Scope.

A customer in the industrial sector was facing a problem many companies in the same space face, maintaining effective work output and reducing factors which may obstruct the completion of duties.

Specifically, our customer had a problem with on-site handheld scanning devices not being properly maintained and dying on-site in the middle of performing business functions on site. The devices required to remain reasonably charged and serviced on the dates required to keep the software up to date, to physically monitor over 300 devices which on different sites was too time-consuming and not a practical application of a manager’s time.

The s4 solution was to develop a device management web application which in real-time reports on all active site device health and maintenance status.

Solution.

A fully customized connected web-based solution was developed targeted to keep track of device battery, health status, maintenance requirements and current network connection status of the device. From the web solution, customer management and nominated supervisors can fully monitor all connected devices, receive alerts on problem devices and configure new devices.

Our customer can now manage in a proactive manner rather than a reactive manner thanks to our software.

We also know the future is uncertain and because of this, we developed a flexible scalable solution which allows the users to different devices types they may require to monitor.
