S4 Integration launched its postgraduate lab and foyer on the 7th of February 2019 at the Nelson Mandela University (NMU) in Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth.

S4 Integration and the Computing Sciences department at NMU started their relationship ten years ago when S4 started employing their graduates and still does to this day. As of 2019, S4 is the number one employer from the university’s software development graduate pool.

The postgraduate lab and foyer area has been uplifted with a new look to create a more engaging environment for students and staff. The Computing Sciences department believes that the S4 lab will boost productivity and make the students stay more enjoyable.

“There has been a steady stream of our students finding employment with S4. However, only recently that we started working on the current partnership. Nico Claassen has been very instrumental in strengthening this, with great support from Andrew White,” says Professor Jean Greyling from NMU.

A partnership such as this for the Computing Sciences department is crucial for developing a strong software development ecosystem. “Universities are experiencing growing financial challenges and financial contributions from industry are becoming more critical for a department like ours. If we want to remain on the cutting edge and continue to produce quality graduates, we see S4 as a major player in this ecosystem,” says Greyling.

S4 strongly believes in plowing into the youth of the Nelson Mandela Bay area as the youth of today are the future of tomorrow.
