S4 honoured Nelson Mandela's centenary birthday on the 18th of July 2018 by donating to the Isithembiso Babies Home in Miramar, Port Elizabeth.

S4 kept to the message behind Mandela Day in which everyone has the ability and the responsibility to change the world for the better even if it has the minutest impact.

Isithembiso Babies Home was established in 2005 and has since then been running for thirteen (13) years. The home was founded to instill hope within the abandoned or orphaned children as well as providing a safe, healthy and loving environment. Isithembiso is able to provide a stable environment for children that have had a difficult start to their lives. It is the organizations aim to make sure that every child that comes through their door are placed in loving and secure families.

“Mandela Day for Isithembiso signifies changing lives which goes hand in hand with the vision of the home: Rescuing Babies, Bringing Hope and Changing a Nation,” says Teranique Watts, Isithembiso Babies Home Coordinator.

Isithembiso currently takes care of six (6) children aged 0-3 years old, providing temporary safe care until they have been re-united with their families, adopted or fostered. During the time the children are at the home, the five (5) ladies taking care of them ensure that they are nurtured, loved and help develop their physical, emotional and cognitive abilities.

S4 recognizes the dedication of the Isithembiso staff and truly appreciates their contribution towards “Bringing hope to the future” one baby at a time. The company’s contribution towards the day consisted of food and baby products which the home needed to a great extent. S4 strongly believes in giving back and uplifting the community in which they function and will continue to uplift the community beyond Mandela Day.

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will deem the significance of the life we lead” – Nelson Mandela
