About the Role.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our team in Pretoria to manage special purpose machinery and automation projects. The position will involve conceptualizing solutions to solve the client’s problem and then managing all aspects of the project including quoting, liaising with subcontractors, managing the installation team and working with the design team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • New Inquiries / Site visits
  • Support local installations / equipment commissioning on projects in the Gauteng region
  • Support local customers. Callouts, change requests etc
  • Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project
  • Confer with engineers, owners and subcontractors and adjustments to the duration of the project
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics or computer-generated reports
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
  • Previous experience in an industrial automation environment
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Project Management Role
  • Willing and able to travel from time to time (Local & international)
  • Advantageous: Able to develop concepts and basic 3D models for mechanical machinery or mechanisms in the CAD environment.
